GRC PRECAST TOILETS

The Clean India Initiative is a national campaign to improve sanitation. One key objective here is to build around 120 MM toilets by 2019⁽¹⁾ to make India open defecation free.

Clearly, an acceptable technology that can be scaled up easily in India is needed for quick and easy installation on ground. Secondly, consistent durable quality, an efficient technological and commercial approach, and a cost-effective solution must be part of it.

GRC based modular toilets can incorporate smart IOT based accessories; they also provide advantages to help address challenges of scalability and quick execution on ground. These are structures made with Alkali Resistant (AR) glass fiber reinforced mortar precast panels.

AR is engineered to increase flexural performance adding toughness, impact, and fatigue resistance to concrete. This controls plastic, thermal, and drying shrinkage cracking.

• Easy & Quick Installation: Thin-walled lightweight structures against typical precast structures with primary glass fiber reinforcement. This support easy and quick installation. Typically, AR glass fiber reinforcements can reduce the weight and thickness of concrete by a factor of 10.

• AR Glass Fiber Advantage: AR glass fibers are unique as concrete reinforcement. They have the same specific gravity as the stone or gravel mixed in concrete so fiber dispersion is easier to achieve than with other fibers. AR fiber contributes efficiently to tensile strength before concrete is able to crack, thanks to its high elastic modulus and its affinity for and efficient bonding with concrete.

• Durability: The AR fibers in the formulation help Low porosity → reduced water penetration → Long Life and low maintenance.
